Time to get back on track!
The mad rush is over and the holidays have come and gone. To get back on track, here’s a gentle detox, which is a modified fast. Start off every day with 2 tablespoons raw, organic apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice and a splash of liquid chlorophyll in water (with some raw honey if you like).
Then eat simply (try the suggestions below) for five days. You will feel better, and you will drop a couple of pounds as well.
Breakfast: Eat as much of one kind of organic fruit as you want (four apples, three pears, a mango). You get the idea. Can you eat steamed apples or pears as your fruit? Yes. This is an excellent choice.
Mid-morn and mid-afternoon, or whenever energy flags: sip a cup of potassium broth such as Bragg’s Liquid Aminos in hot water, or fresh vegetable juice or organic apple juice.
Lunch: Enjoy brown rice with steamed vegetables dressed with the juice of a fresh lemon and a tablespoon or two of extra-virgin olive or flaxseed oil. [Note: make sure your extra virgin olive oil is really that. We have wonderful authentic extra virgin olive oils from people we know we can trust.] Optional: a sprinkle of seaweed; a spoonful of brewer’s yeast (the richest source of the B vitamins).
Dinner: Repeat the above but feel free to vary vegetables. Greens like kale, chard, dandelion are good liver tonics. Broccoli, cauliflower, yams, parsnips are excellent choices as well. Your nightcap: Lemon juice or apple cider vinegar in water with 1 tsp. honey or royal jelly. Use a soluble fiber supplement like flax or psyllium seed powder to cleanse debris that may be trapped in the pockets of the intestines.
With each meal: Take a capsule of milk thistle, a liver-cleansing and protecting herb, and digestive enzymes and vitamin C. Wrap your hands around a mug of green, ginger, pau d’arco or detox tea. Do this many times during the day, exercise (walk with a friend…), and sleep a full eight hours at night.
Stick with this for five days. You’ll feel lighter, more energetic, and happy that you’re back on track!
