Jim Sherblom will speak about Concord’s evolving democracy from the perspective of his new book ”Concord Stories volume one.” Over nearly four hundred years Concord has struggled with messy battles over property owners rights, freedmen’s rights, Whigs vs. Royalists, transients rights, abolition, women’s rights, immigrant rights, prohibition, socio-economic rights, military draft, and zoning. Come hear what history tells us about Concord’s messy democracy in times of major transitions both locally and nationally.
We’re thrilled to host Jim. This is his third book.
